James’ Obituary Attica – James E. Clinton, Sr., 80, Attica, passed away in the emergency room of the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 8:10 p.m. Jim was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on March 4, 1939. He was the son of the late Clifford E. and Frances I. (Matlock) Clinton. He was raised in Terre Haute, attending Dresser School. Jim has lived most of his life in Attica. Jim formerly worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica from 1972 until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Attica Eagles Lodge # 2596. Jim was first married to Grace Brenner and she preceded him in death. He later married Rosalie Lawson and she preceded him in death in 1987. He leaves behind his companion, Bonnie Templin of Monticello; four children, James E. (Twila) Clinton, Jr., Terre Haute; Clifford (Carolyn) Wilderman, Attica; Margaret Penick, St. Louis, MO and Bonnie (John) King, Terre Haute; a step daughter, Patty Kimberling, Attica; fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three children, Peggy Sue Clinton, Alice Williams and Carolyn Howard; a granddaughter, NaTasha Kimberling; a great-granddaughter, Victoria Howard; four brothers, Leo, Larry Joe, William F. and Raymond Clinton; two sisters, Beatrice Bridgewater and Mary Ellen Merrill.
