James Bishop, Sr. of Mapleton, NC departed this life on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at his residence. A native of Hertford Co., NC he was born on January 29, 1943 to the Aaron Bishop and Mattie Britt Bishop He retired from Newport New Shipyard as a welder. He leaves to cherish his memories: (2) daughters, Valerie Bishop of Mapleton, NC and Nicole Bishop of Texas; (1) son, James Bishop, Jr of Mapleton, NC; (3) sisters, Regina and Evelyn both of NY and Edna of Washington, DC; (1) brother, Norman Bishop; grandchildren, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
