Obituary of Gladys M. Smart-Powers Gladys M. Smart-Powers Our beloved Mother went Home peacefully on March 31, 2019. I can’t say enough how much this wonderful woman of God has meant to all who knew her. There wasn’t a life she didn’t touch with her gentleness, sweetness and genuine love. At the nursing home where she spent the last two years of her life, all of her caretakers were lovingly called “her kids” and everyone embraces this amazing woman. Growing up in the presence of loving parents put all of their children on the path of success with morals and principles being taught and lived out. Our parents Raymond C. Smart (Pre-deceased) and Gladys M. Smart raised one son, David and three daughters, Marilyn, Shirley, and Pamela. We all loved and cherished our parents, and miss them dearly. Surviving are her daughters, Shirley (Merle) Rice, and Pamela (Pat) Dumoulin. Predeceased are Marilyn (George) Miller and David (Nancy) Smart. Gladys is Grandma to 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren, all whom she loved dearly. A graveside Memorial service will be held June 29, 2019. She will forever be etched into our memories. Thank you Mom, until we meet again!
