Burial with military honors will follow in the Chattanooga Cemetery, Chattanooga, Oklahoma under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. George W. “Bill” Snider, 83, Sterling, passed away with his family at his side on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at his home in Sterling. Bill was born to George William and Peggy (Roach) Snider on September 7, 1935 in Indiahoma. He grew up in a military family and lived in different locations. One of those locations was near Cache where Bill became friends with the family of Quanah Parker. Bill married Joyce Evelyn Jones on July 6, 1957 in Chattanooga, Oklahoma. They were married for 52 years before Joyce’s passing on July 27, 2009. Bill later married Shirley Hodges Coates on February 1, 2010. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1961 mainly as an aircraft mechanic. Following his military service Bill worked primarily in the medical supply business for Medco. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He really enjoyed family gatherings and fishing. Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home, two sons, Matt Snider and wife Betty of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Lance Spradling and wife Kim of Ozark, Missouri, three grandchildren, Bailey Ramsey and wife Lora, Brodie Angel and husband Tucker and Kaylan Spradling, three brothers, Bobby Snider and wife Velma of Sterling, Donnie Snider and wife Charlotte of Fletcher, Ricky Snider and wife Connie of Sterling, two sisters, Clydine Pierce and husband Mores and Linda McCraken and husband Doug all of Sterling, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, daughter, Dianne Snider, son, Clay Snider, three brothers, Aaron Gibson, Jr., Kenneth Snider and Larry Ward, one sister, Jerry Holt.
