Celebrating the life of Delphine Robello Medeiros. Born on March 1, 1921 in Koolauloa, Kahuku. Her parents were Antone Robello and Antonia Carvalho. She was one of 10 children (not sure what the order is). She attended Kahuku Elementary School. Her final grade level of completion was the 6th grade because her mother grew ill and she had to care for her and her siblings. Afterwards, she began her career at American Can Company. She remained there until she retired. After retirement, she travelled the world with her husband and raised her 3 sons, Charles Medeiros, Clayton Medeiros and Joseph Medeiros. She lived in Kahuku, Kamehameha Heights and Kaneohe. She was married to Joseph L Medeiros on May 29, 1943 at Central Union Church. She was a member of Saint Ann’s Church in Kaneohe for more than 50 years. She loved to feed people. As soon as you would enter her home, she’d ask you if you were hungry. She had an abundant supply of cookies and ice cream always waiting for you. It was her tradition to made hundreds of malasada every year on malasada day and pass it out to family and friends. She had many close friends. Helen, and Evelyn were her bestie and she was extremely close to her late sister Beatrice and brother Tony. She was a member of the Koolau Senior Hui since 1984 where she visited every Thursday and did crochet and crafts. One of her most important highlights of her life was renewing her vows to Joseph after 30 years in her Catholic Church at Saint Ann’s. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crochet, sewing, and bowling. She was famous for her homemade malasadas and sweet bread. There was something about Hawaiian music that comforted her soul. She loved Jazz as well. Delphine is survived by her 3 sons, 11 grand children, 23 great grand children, and 20 great great grandchildren (with 2 more great great grandchildren are on the way). She enjoyed holding her grand babies most. Getting visits from them and watching them grow up was her joy. The family wishes to send a huge mahalo out to Island Hospice, Dr Jose from Straub Kaneohe, and to friends and family that visited her over these past few months. God bless you all. Services for Delphine will be on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Valley of the Temples Mortuary Chapel; visitation to begin at 10:30 a.m., services at 11:15 a.m. and burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
