Bobbie Ruth (Groce) Elder, age 82, of Ashers Fork Dr. in Murfreesboro, TN and formerly of Byrdstown, TN, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Creekside at Three Rivers in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born April 23, 1937 in Albany, KY to Robert D. Groce and Sallie Ineta (Guthrie) Groce. She was a member of Byrdstown First Baptist Church, a retired LPN and a homemaker. Bobbie is survived by (1) Daughter: Dr. Ineta Cobb and Husband: Scott ; (1) Son: Dr. Robert Elder and Wife: Nancy ; (4) Sisters: Carolyn Dyer, Sharon Russell, Diann McWhorter and Cathy Tompkins ; (3) Grandchildren: Suzanne Bond, Caroline Madden and Elissa Cobb ; (2) Great Grandchildren: Annalee Bond and James Robert Bond ; Step Mother: Shirley Groce Austin. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Robert D. Groce and Sallie Ineta (Guthrie) Groce ; Husband: Porter Frank Elder ; (2) Brothers: Ronnie Robinson and Johnny Robinson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Byrdstown First Baptist Church with Bro. Ivan Raley officiating. Burial will be in the Lovelady-Sims Cemetery. *The family will receive friends Saturday 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 P.M. * *The family would like to thank Dr. Thuy Ngo, Dr. Billy Copeland Jr., and the Creekside at Three Rivers staff in Murfreesboro for their compassionate care and support. Memorial contributions in memory of Bobbie Ruth Elder can be made to Byrdstown First Baptist Church.*
