Miss Anne (Toady) Johnson passed away on April 3, 2019, after a brief illness. She was 91. Miss Johnson was born in Macon, Georgia, and lived most of her life in Dublin.She was the daughter of the late Stephens Guy Johnson and Leila Benton Johnson of Dublin. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019, at Northview Cemetery in Dublin. Toady graduated from Dublin High School and made her home in Dublin for the remainder of her life. She and her long time friend, Miss Martha Elizabeth Hooks, traveled throughout the United States and throughout the world during the Fifties, Sixties, and Seventies. In 1967, they took a three month trip around the world during which they were the last westerners to visit the ruins of Angkor Wat prior to the Communist takeover of Cambodia. Toady, along with Miss Hooks, was very active in Dublin’s social, civic, and political life for seventy years. She was a member of Dublin First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents and Miss Hooks, she was preceded in death by her dear friends Mr. and Mrs. Gerald C. Adams. There are no immediate survivors.
