Reba K. Floyd Hagler of Salem, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Seville Care Center in Salem at the age of 99. Reba was born in Dent County, Missouri on May 6, 1919 to the late James and Sarah (Hedrick) Kathcart. Reba spent her entire life in Dent County. On July 11, 1936 she married Clifford Floyd, this union was blessed with four children. After William’s passing she later married Marshall Hagler on December 28, 1992. She was a longtime member of the Grace community Church, and attended until her health no longer permitted. Reba was very talented in many ways, but especially sewing. While growing up in Dent County Reba learned to sew, it was a skill that not only kept her clothed, but also kept her warm, she loved to make and gift beautiful quilts to her family, a treasure that is cherished today, she also enjoyed crocheting, making beautiful afghans to keep her family warm. Reba also enjoyed gardening, each spring setting out a plan for what she would plant, get those seeds in the ground to yield a gardens worth of vegetables that she graciously and lovingly shared with her family and friends, and canning and freezing the rest to feed her family through the long winter months. She really enjoyed setting on the porch and visiting with any and all that would stop by for a chat, she especially loved spending time with her family and the grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all, and will be greatly missed. Reba K. Floyd Hagler is survived by her children, Sue Anderson and husband Stanley, of Salem, MO, and William Floyd and wife Charlotte, of O’Fallon, MO; step-children, Marshall Hagler, of Rolla, MO, Fred Hagler, of Salem, MO, and Michael Hagler, of St. Louis, MO; daughter-in-law, Mary Floyd, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, eight grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her children, Charlotte Pogue, and James Floyd; brothers, Lawrence Kathcart, Dorman Floyd, Donald Floyd, Wilber Floyd, and Paul Floyd; son-in-law, James Pogue; grandson, Carl Pogue; sister, Dessie Arisman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:00PM at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Shannon Lambert officiating, internment will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation fro family and friends will be at the Chapel prior to the service from 11Am until service time.
