Paul’s Obituary Paul Cartez Anakor, 32, of Henrietta, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in Richmond. Paul was born on February 23, 1987, in Kansas City, the son of Paul Anakor and Joshlyn Woods. He was united in marriage to Johnna Nicole Tharp of Independence on March 28, 2014. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include: his mother, Joshlyn Woods of Kansas City and his father, Paul Anakor of Texas; his seven children: Saliyah Tharp, Malikiah Tharp, Cardale Anakor, Zavion Anakor, and Kingsley Anakor, all of the home, Jacquari Anakor of Phoenix, AR, and Tarah Thomas of Kansas City, KS; three sisters: Paulette Anakor of Kansas City, Ebony Woods of Gary, IN, and Tabatha Washington of Kansas City; mother-in-law, Julie McVey of Kansas City, KS; father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, Terry and Dalaina Tharp of Richmond; several nephews; and his many work friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his special aunt, Mabel. Paul was a licensed certified nursing assistant and worked in healthcare most of his life. He grew up and was educated in Kansas City and moved to Richmond in 2017. Prior to moving to Richmond, Paul worked at Saint Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza for 9 years. Since moving to Richmond, Paul was an employee of Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Paul especially loved his children; they meant the world to him. Paul enjoyed music and sports. He was a hard worker and a great provider for his family. He was of the Christian faith and was attending the Henrietta Baptist Church with his friends and family. He was loved by everyone who knew him. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Paul Cartez Anakor Memorial Fund. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
