Mary (Heavin) LaFlamme passed away on January 20, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born in Edgar Springs, Missouri on July 26, 1927 to the late Charles and Orpha (Thorpe) Harris. On September 7, 1946 she was joined in marriage to the late Johnny J. Heavin. Widowed and remarried to the late Lionel R. LaFlamme on April 14, 1997. Mary was employed as a teacher in the Newburg Schools. Johnny and Mary were also local business owners. She loved to cook, quilt and was an avid church member and lifetime member of the Eastern Star. Her father and husband, Johnny were both ministers and both of her husbands were WWII decorated veterans. Mary will be sadly missed by her surviving family; sister Helen (Kenneth) Beale; daughter, Sherry (Heavin) Ellis; grandson, Joe Williams; sister-in-law, Deannie Harris; special friends, David (Glenna) Nenninger; extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Vernon and Hilburn Harris and granddaughter Jammie Williams. Funeral services for Mary LaFlamme will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Rolla Chapel of the James and Gahr Mortuary. Interment will be held in the Ozark Hills Memorial Garden. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00PM on Tuesday, January, 22, 2019. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
