Leland “Garry” Yeomans, 92, of Harkers Island, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2019. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Free Grace Wesleyan Church on Harkers Island, officiated by Rev. Clint Nelson. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae on Harkers Island. Garry loved his church, Free Grace Wesleyan Church, where he faithfully attended. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved people and was always happy to lend a helping hand. His outgoing personality allowed him to never meet a stranger. He was a jack of all trades and unlike many, he mastered them all. His many talents and trades included plumbing, electrical contractor, pilots license, real estate license, insurance license, HAM operator, notary and clammer. Garry’s artistic eye allowed him to enjoy one of his favorite hobbies, photography. You can find some of his prints at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center on Harkers Island. Garry was loved by his family and friends and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Leland W. Yeomans and wife Andrea of Harkers Island; grandchildren, Mardell Y. Mitchell and husband Brian; great-grandchildren, Tucker Mitchell and Kaci Mitchell; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Novella Yeomans; son, Rodney Yeomans; parents, Martin and Emma Yeomans; sisters, Lois Hill, Emma Lee Yeomans, Reva Willis; and brother, Luther Carroll Yeomans. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Free Grace Wesleyan Church on Harkers Island. Flowers are welcome.
