Kirby’s Obituary Kirby Hinton, age 87, entered Eternal Rest on March 4, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 14, 1932 in Little Rock, Arkansas to McKinley Hinton and Iona Woods. As veteran of the United States Air Force, Kirby dedicated 28 years in military service to his Country, attaining the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He further continued his stellar career of service for several years thereafter, with a career in the civil service and education fields . Kirby, a devout and dedicated servant to his Lord and church, devoted over 20 years as Deacon, and as a Brother not only to church members; but to all whom he met and regarded as fellow mankind . He was preceded in death by his son, Kirby Hinton, Jr. He is survived by his wife Kyong S. Hinton, a daughter Mary Lydia Matthews, grandchildren Raleigh Lee Matthews II and LaTasha Renee Matthews and greatgrandchild Lailani Jean Matthews, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Castle Ridge Mortuary, 8008 Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78227. A Celebration of Life and Prayer Service will be conducted on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at Han-Ma-Eum Baptist Church, 10603 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.
