Helen Marak of Irving, Texas November 15, 1931 – March 27, 2019 Anna Helen Marak, 87, a resident of Irving since October 1962, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at a local care center. Born November 15, 1931 in Tours, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Anton Hlavenka and Mary Vrba Hlavenka. She married Edmond E. Marak April 26, 1952 in San Diego, California. She had worked for Dallas County Records as a title clerk, before her children were born and later returned after they were older. She had worked for two trucking companies and also Doran Chevrolet. She was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, where she had been active in the Altar Guild, and as a teacher. She was a former den mother for the Boy Scouts and a Girl Scout leader. Survivors include her husband Ed Marak of Irving; daughters, Antoinette LaBarre and husband Stephen of Irving; Jennifer Clower and husband Scott of Kilgore; sons, Edmond E. Marak, Jr. of McKinney and Michael A. Marak and wife Barb of Lewisville; seven grandchildren, Melissa Velasquez and husband Joel, Jimmy Marak, Michael LaBarre, Aubrey LaBarre, Daniel LaBarre, Rachel Clower, and Gracie Clower; and two great grandchildren, Alexis Velasquez and Gabriel Velasquez. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. A Rosary will be said at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019. Burial will be at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Tours, Texas at a later date.
