Betty J Sample, 101, of Duluth, MN, formerly of Moline, passed away March 15, 2019, at Marywood Assisted Living in Duluth MN. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. She was born to Alpha and Hazel Buker in Rock Island, Ill. She married William M Sample in 1936. She retired after 20 years’ service to Illinois Bell. She was a life member of IDJ Pioneers. She is survived by her son William (Lori) of Duluth, MN, her sisters, Patricia Steiner of Geneseo, Ill., and Doris Gotthardt of East Moline. She is also survived by her Granddaughter Suzanne Colburn of Woodstock, GA and her Grandson Robert (Tanya) of Atoka, TN. In addition, she is survived by 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William, her son Richard, her brother Elmer Buker and her sister Leona Hibernik. Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
