Anna Mae’s Obituary Anna Mae Perry Saunders, 90, formerly of Gates, NC, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton. Mrs. Saunders was born in Perquimans County on December 31, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Belmont and Seaneth Rogerson Perry. A retired supervisor from Don Juan Manufacturing, she was a member of Hobbsville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Roger Saunders; a son, Johnny Saunders; a son-in-law, Don Overton; and by a sister, Mary Lloyd. Surviving are her daughter, Jane Overton of Elizabeth City; a son, Roger Saunders and wife, Ann, of Siler City; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Saunders of Charlotte; a sister, Marjorie Moseley of Macon, GA; a brother, Belmont Perry of Newark, DE; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Tim Dannelly. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Saturday.
