Ruth E. Johnson, 101, of Jefferson City, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on February 21, 1918 in Dixon, Missouri; a daughter of Wade and Lulu (Anderson) Hancock. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Herman Johnson, July 3, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas. Ruth attended a rural school near Dixon, Missouri. She was a loving wife and mother, who enjoyed staying home and taking care of her children. Ruth cherished the times spent at Pomme de Terre lake with Bill and Bill’s family. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time visiting with her many friends. Most of all, Ruth treasured the memories created with her family. She is survived by her son: Michael William Johnson of Stilwell, Kansas; daughter: Lisa Ruth Johnson of Jefferson City; sister: Sue Ellen Alexander; grandchildren: Eric Michael Johnson and Scott William Johnson (Jayme); great- grandchild: Jhett William Johnson. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents: Wade Mosby and Lulu Ellen (Anderson) Hancock; brother: Rhea Hancock; brother-in-laws: C. Berton Alexander, Charles Johnson and Joe Johnson; sister-in-laws: Yvonne Johnson and Eska Hancock. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Dixon Cemetery located in Dixon, Missouri.
