Obituary for Robert Francis Mendes Print Warren – Robert F. Mendes, 81, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren. Robert was born in Woonsocket, RI. The son of the late Manuel and Florence (Goulet) Mendes. He was an Army National Guard Veteran for over 20 years before retiring as a Sergeant, and was an Assembly Line Worker for American Tourister for many years. A Warren resident for 12 years coming from Bristol, where he lived for 39 years, Robert was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of Bristol. Robert also enjoyed playing a game of pool, fishing, and spending his time with family. He is survived by his sister, Muriel F. Mello of Bristol, his niece, Lisa Mota of Bristol, and nephew, Raymond Castigliego, as well as seven great nieces and nephews, Alyssa Brown, Tayla Florenzano, Mathew Mota, Zachary Mota, Tiffany Mota, Rachelle Castigliego, and Joshua Castigliego, and one great-great nephew, Bryce Brown with one expecting. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday February 25,2019 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Calling hours and flowers are omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1848,Longmont, CO, 80502.
