Mario Garcia Desousa April 21, 1929 – February 21, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Born on the Portugal Azores island of Faial, Praia do Norte ( North Beach) The only son of six children. He would spend twenty+ years serving in the Portuguese army where he would travel to different Portuguese colonies in service. After retiring from military service he, his wife, and first son would immigrate to the United States after being sponsored by his two younger sisters who already came to the states after a natural disaster destroyed their family home. Once here he would secure a position at Standford University first as a grounds laborer then securing a position within Standford’s Steam Distribution plant followed by becoming a Stream Fitter after attending night school courses. He would take early retirement and spend his free time working on honey to-do lists. He is survived by his wife Hortensia and two sons. Jaime his oldest named after his childhood best friend and his youngest son Mario, all are residents of San Jose.
