Today we celebrate the life of Charles Albert Isley Jr. He is well known for his special sense of humor and his love of driving tractor trailers. He learned to drive trucks from his father, the late Charles Albert Isley. They shared this passion which led to a lifetime love of driving big trucks. Because of this love, he was able to travel all over the United States. Charles was born on November 25, 1944 in Pleasant Garden, NC to the late Charles and Cleo Isley. He was schooled in the Guilford County School system and graduated from James B. Dudley High School. He later joined the U.S. Army. He worked for many years at LinPac trucking until his unfortunate departure. In 1975, he met and later married his best friend Cecelia Mae Hughes. During his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars and riding his motorcycle. He later joined the gospel group, The Sons of Zion, and was a very active member for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Cecelia Isley of Greensboro, NC, two sons, John Paul Jones (Stacey) of Walnut Cove, NC, and Dawn “Donnie” Jones (Dana) of Whitsett, NC, two brothers, Ernest Isley (Renee) of Zion, IL and Douglas Isley (Flex) of Atlanta, GA, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
