William “Bill”‘s Obituary William “Bill” Riegler, age 99, of Canton, passed away early Saturday morning. He was born in Canton to the late Ralph and Florence (Sperry) Riegler. Bill was a Lieutenant Colonel serving in WWII as a B17 Bomber Pilot flying thirty-nine missions. He retired from the US Post Office where he worked in finance. Bill was a member of Christ the Servant Catholic Parish as well as their men’s club. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a son, Robert, and four sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary Jane; children, David (Debbie) Riegler, Stephen Riegler, Carol (Bill) Schmalzl, Joanne Smith and Marilyn (Kevin) Malloy; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Christ the Servant Catholic Parish with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano as celebrant. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
