Wanda’s Obituary Wanda Mae (Shields) Adams, 87, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Sunrise Senior Living Center in Westminster, CO. She was born July 16, 1931 in Mayview, MO., the daughter of Raymond and Lucy (Groves) Shields. She attended Cherokee county schools and received an Associate Degree of Science from the Community College of Denver, CO. She married Charles (Bill) Mercer on July 11, 1947 in Columbus and they resided and farmed in the Sherwin area. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1971. Mrs. Adams moved to Northglenn, CO in January 1974 to be near her brother, Ray Dean Shields. She married Jack Pairan on August 6, 1974 in Northglenn, CO. and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1988. She married Hugh Adams on November 6, 1993 in Denver, CO. and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2014. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Denver, CO. and is a Life Member of Pursel Chapter No. 110 Order of the Eastern Star in Columbus, KS. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia (John) Bales and Judy (Sam) Horner of Thornton, CO., and Nancy (Carl) Riker of Pittsburg, KS; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three step-children: Jackie Steele, and Rod and Steve Adams; four step-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Ray & Jewell Shields of Northglenn, CO.; and one nephew and two nieces. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Sherwin Christian Church of Columbus, KS. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Read More
