Obituary for Virginia Catherine Dickson Virginia CatherineDickson September 27, 1921-December 31, 2018 Virginia Catherine Dickson, 97, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, Indiana. She was born September 27, 1921 in Henderson County, Kentucky, the daughter of Joseph Pruitt and Sarah (Phillips) Pruitt. Virginia was a member of the Eastern Star, First Christian Church, and a Daughter of the Nile. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ for the church and the Eastern star as well. On July 27, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she married Charles Dickson who preceded her in death on November 4,1995. She is survived by her two sons, Regie (Frances) Dickson of Laporte, IN, Phillip (Debra) Dickson of Grand Rapids, MI; seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by both her parents and brother, Homer H. Pruitt. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday January 5, 2019 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Everett Shattuck officiating.
