Thomas A. Speer, lovingly referred to as “Old Man” was born August 24, 1947 in Indianapolis to Freelan and Hazel (Chumley) Speer passed January 31, 2019 at home with his grandson by his side. Thomas was an Iron worker with the Local 22 Union out of Indianapolis, he loved to fish, play euchre and watch wrestling and westerns. He was in the National Guard for 21 years with Company B – 1 / 152. Surviving relatives include his children, James (Angela) Speer of Bloomfield, Lori Speer of Bloomfield, his grandchildren, James-Thomas, Sierra, Kelsie, Cheyann all of Bloomfield, one sister, Cheryl Speer of Linton, two nephews, Jason Speer, Darren (Lori) Burch and one niece, Virginia Smith of Linton and daughter Tina Speer. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Speer on December 12, 2012, one daughter, Stacey Speer in April of 2011 and his parents. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. on Saturday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Burial will follow at Bays – Burch Cemetery in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to the Jenkins Funeral Home or IU Health Hospice House.
