MARTINEZ—Santa Martinez, 93, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 29 at 645 am. She was originally from Puerto Rico and a long time resident of Orange Park. She worked for many years at the Laundromat in Orange Park / Arora Blvd and often could be seen as she walked the neighborhood. She was an active member of St. Catherine’s, helping establish and support her husband Ricardo with the Hispanic Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the Diocese of St. Augustine, FL in 1985, as well as the Camino Jesus group at St. Catherine’s. Her life was dedicated to her love for Jesus could be seen in her boundless love for everyone she met. Santa is preceded in death by her husband Ricardo, and survived by her daughter and son in law, Miriam and Ronald Boswell, grandchildren Ryan Boswell and Eddie Brownstone, great grandchildren Riley, Rori and Baby (on the way) Boswell, Meadowlark and Saffron Brownstone, as well as countless other friends whom she counted as family. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Feb 5 at St Catherine’s from 10:30 – 11:00 am. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held after the viewing at 11:00 am at St. Catherine’s.
