Obituary of Robert Larson, II Robert Leonard Larson II peacefully passed away while surrounded by his beloved wife and children in Monterey, CA on Thursday, October 25, 2018. He is survived by his adored wife of 48 years, Ramona, his sons, Adam and Keith, three grandchildren, Hannah, Charlie, and Henry, and his much-loved dog, Hunter. His 73 years of life began on May 28, 1945 in San Jose, CA, where he called home until 1961 when he moved with his parents, Robert and Jessie, and brother, Larry, to Carmel. He played football for the Carmel High School Padres and Monterey Peninsula College Lobos and was a remarkable all-around athlete throughout his entire life, whether that was on the baseball diamond, basketball and tennis courts, or serene running track at Carmel High School. He graduated from San Jose State University and earned an MBA at Santa Clara University. After graduating officer candidate school, he served in the United States Army (1966-1969), assigned to Special Forces and Psychological Operations. In addition to his military career, he was a branch manager and vice president for Bank of America (1974-2001), working in Palo Alto, Los Altos, Santa Clara, and ultimately in Carmel. Bob was a faithful fan of the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors and would never turn down a chance to talk about sports. Above all though, Bob loved and treasured his family. Trips to Yosemite, Hawaii, and Disneyland were memories he cherished. Playing catch, tennis, and tossing around the football with his sons were activities that fulfilled him and both Adam and Keith alike. Attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and recitals was an immense source of pride for him. Anything that involved his wife, boys, and grandchildren was something that he focused all of his energy and love. His pet dogs (Fluffy, Molly, Reggie, Tucker, and Hunter) and cats (Smokey and Bandit) reciprocated the abundance of love he showed them. While a very private man, Bob made no bones about how much he loved his family. Bob/Pop/Husband/Grandpa/Uncle/Friend/Neighbor—by any name, he is so very missed by those who were in his orbit. I know the writer of this, his youngest son, will eternally miss and love his Pop. In lieu of flowers, the Larson family asks that donations be made to Carmel Youth Baseball (P.O. Box 222895, Carmel, CA 93922). A celebration of life is scheduled for December 15th at 1 PM, located at the Jubilee Bridge, 685 Jarvis Drive, D, Morgan Hill, CA 95037.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Robert Leonard Larson II 1945 2018.
