Mervin “Pepper” LeRoy Strycker, 92, Osceola, died 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at his home. He was born Sept. 30, 1926 in Wakarusa to Mervin & Inez (Smeltzer) Strycker. On Feb. 8, 1947, he married Beulah (Schalliol) Strycker and she died June 6, 2007. Surviving are a son, Dennis (Neeta) Strycker, Osceola, 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and siblings, Larry (Faye) Strycker, Mishawaka and June Harter, Wakarusa. Preceding him in death are his parents, wife, Beulah, daughter Debra Strycker and a son, Terry Strucker. Mervin served in WW II and was discharged in 1946. He was a factory worker at Goshen Rubber and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Visitation will be two hours prior to the 12 p.m. service on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Pastor David Harper will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to the Center for Hospice Care, South Bend.
