Marjory Elaine Thornton February 1 1936 – November 30 2018

Obituary for Marjory Elaine Thornton Print Marjory Elaine Wood Thornton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 30, 2018. She was born in Merced, CA and moved to Stockton in 1942, where she went to Jefferson Grammar School. She graduated from Stockton College in 1953. She earned her teaching credential at San Jose State College and her masters degree at Fresno Pacific College. She taught for 29 years for Stockton Unified School district and at Kennedy, EL Dorado, and was a program specialist at Harrison where she retired in 1991. Marjory was married to her husband of 31 years Thomas R. Thornton. She is survived by her sons Charles Carteret (spouse Elizabeth), Anthony Carteret (spouse Jessica) all of Stockton, also her step children Thomas Thornton (spouse Jackie) of Jamestown, CA, Bonnie Shoup (spouse Jerry) of Green River, Wyoming and Charlie Thornton (spouse Tammie) of Diamondville, Wyoming, and her sister LaRetta Hudson of Stockton. Marjory also is survived by 10 grand children and 8 great-grand children, also her companion Floyd Krammer. Marjory was also a Women of the Moose in Lodi number 488. She enjoyed traveling, reading, dancing and ballroom dancing. Her services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 with the viewing from 10am to 12:30pm at Colonial Rose Chapel located at 520 N. Sutter Street Stockton, CA 95205, services starting at 1:00 pm and then graveside services to follow at Stockton Rural Cemetery.
