Marie Love Gambill Button 2019

Marie Love Gambill Button, 89, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Asheville and a lifelong resident of Oakley, Marie was a daughter of the late A.L. and Ruth Worrell Gambill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Parker Lee Button; sisters, Kathleen Foster and Mary Robertson; and cousin, Margaret Webb. Mrs. Button worked for many years at Woolworth’s in downtown Asheville and then at CVS. She was a lifelong member of Oakley United Methodist Church and worked in their nursery for 30 years. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Button and Elizabeth Buchanan (Robert); grandchildren, Shelley Moseley, Zachary Moseley (Lindsey), Robbie Buchanan, and Megan Buchanan; great-granddaughter, Blair Tilley; sister, Aileen McCrain; sister-in-law, Ruth Ogle; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Button will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Oakley United Methodist Church. Pastor Vic Wilfong will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakley United Methodist Church, 607 Fairview Rd., Asheville, NC 28803.
