Lyle’s Obituary Faith became sight for Lyle E. Williams 71, Basehor, KS, when he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. He was born Oct. 29, 1947 in Leavenworth, KS, to James A. and Lila May (Jerauld) Williams. He graduated from Basehor High School in 1965 and served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971. On September 26, 1970 Lyle married the love of his life Shelby Ann Cook in Reedsport, Oregon. Lyle and Shelby had 48 wonderful years together and raised 3 children. Lyle loved Jesus and was a member of Wallula Christian where he served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. He enjoyed being an encouragement and prayer warrior for those around him. He also loved his family and could often be found spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids. He worked at Hallmark Cards, Leavenworth, KS for 17 years before becoming disabled by blindness. He was preceded death by parents and is survived by his three children Gary (Jill) Kansas City, KS, Greg (Tony), Kansas City, MO, Joy (Wes) Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren Allison Williams, Ashley Williams and Jackson Williams; brother Bill Williams (Kathy), sisters Fran Gast, Mary Holloway (Dave) and Julie Williams-Palmer (Bud). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 6-7 p.m. at Wallula Christian Church. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
