Kerry Allen Baker 2019

Kerry Allen Baker, 69, of Asheville, NC, died Sunday, January 20, 2019, from complications related to a sudden illness. His professional career spanned engineering, finance and law. Most recently, he was Operations Manager for Fielder Capital Group, LLC. He earned his BIE from Georgia Tech, his MBA from Georgia State, and his JD from the University of Memphis. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. Survived by his mother Betty Brooks Baker of Decatur, GA and his father Austin Clark Baker of Lawrenceville, GA; he also leaves his wife Ellen Fleming Baker of Asheville, two step-children Sarah Byrd (Dana Carter) of Hendersonville, NC, and Frank C. Byrd, III (Pung-Pung Huang), and his favorite grandson, William Kai Byrd of Memphis, TN. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Fletcher United Methodist Church. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Fletcher United Methodist Church (50 Library Rd., Fletcher, NC 28732).
