OBITUARY Jeffery Mayes December 21, 1960 – January 28, 2019 Jeffery L. “Pork Chop” Mayes, 58, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019. He was born in Evansville, IN on December 21, 1960 to the late Barten and Betty Mayes. Jeffery was a laborer with the Local 561 for 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, sports, grilling out, hunting, and was a big music lover. Jeffery is preceded in death by his brothers, Brock and Donald Mayes. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda; children, Chastidy Mayes, Jeffery Mayes (Ashley) and Charity Doane (Josh); stepchildren, Melody Gebhard and Steven Gebhard; grandchildren, Harmony Mayes and Arianna Pride; brother, David Mayes; sister, Sissy Jackson; brother, Steve Mayes and nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Bill Chase. Family and friends may visit on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Chancellor Center for Oncology, the Evansville Cancer Center and Chemo Buddies. Memorial contributions may be made to Chemo Buddies.
