James W Anderson July 18 1943 January 19 2019

James’ Obituary ALGOMA – James Anderson, 75, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019, at his home in Algoma. He was born to George and Mattie Anderson on July 18, 1943 in Eudora, Arkansas. James was an adventurer who had many stories to tell with a few jokes thrown in for good measure. He loved his family and was never at a loss for words. He traveled to many countries helping to build churches and he was happy to tell anyone about his adventures and his Jesus. James married Sandra Gates in June of 1961 and they had three children. He was a carpenter from the time he was very young, building his first set of cabinets at the young age of 12. He was also the first in his family to graduate college, and went on to be a Math and Physics teacher, a crop duster and a preacher. For a short time he was the City of Pontotoc’s building inspector. He was an inventor and handy man. He was very smart and many young people have lots of memories of homework help from him and words of wisdom to live by. But the most important thing to him was God and his family. He will be greatly missed by many. His visitation will be Monday, January 21 at West Pontotoc Pentecostal Church in Pontotoc from 5-8PM. Tuesday, January 22 his service will be at 5PM with Rev. Eugene Taylor and Rev. Glen Washington officiating and his grandson, Troy Bone, making remarks for the family, with visitation beginning at 3PM until service time. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Becky Anderson and her children and grands, two sons, Jim (Beverly) Anderson of Houston and Brian (Garie) Anderson of Houlka; a daughter, Teresa (Mike) Bone of Randolph; five grandchildren, Brittany (Charlie) Lambert of Oxford, Mick (Erica) Bone of Randolph, Corey (Katie) Anderson of Arkansas, and Troy and Tristin Bone of Randolph; his three great grandchildren, Braylon Bone, Ava Margaret Lambert, and Kathryn Maylene “Maylie” Anderson; one brother, Lonnie Anderson of Eudora, AR; two sisters, Helen (Freddie) Ashley of Eudora, AR and Nancy (David) Vance of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Sandra, his parents and a brother, G.W. Anderson. When you think of James and his family, please say a prayer for those he left behind. We’ll see him again. Read More
