Hjarl Zwinge, Sr. of Chiefland, FL, known to friends as Ziggy, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the age of 75. Hjarl was born in his home in Stephentown, NY in 1943 to Martha Pedersen and Waldermar Zwinge, Jr. He was preceded in death by both loving parents, brothers, Walter, Harold, Felix and Pedar, sister, Sylvia Roulier. Hjarl is survived by loving sisters, Phyllis Craib (Bill), Martha Senecal and Ann Pacini (Paul). Hjard will be remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine (Jones), and his children, Hjarl, Jr., Deborah Myrick, Karen, Kirk (Christina) and Amber Williamson (Joey). Hjarl will also be remembered by his grandchildren, Johnny, Michelle, Jacob, Idunn, Tiffany, Austin, Carlie, Chloe and Audrey, and great-grandchildren, Liam and Freyja. Hjard was a proud patriot of this great country and served in the United Stated Navy, serving seventeen years between active duty and reserves. After working many years as a heavy equipment operator in New York and Florida, Hjarl went to work for the city of Treasure Island, where he retired in 2006. A celebration of life and interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida will be announced.
