Obituary for Henry Joseph VanDeVyvere Henry Joseph VanDeVyvere, 78 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Private burial with full military honors will be held in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warriors. Henry was born May 8, 1940 in Raytown, MO to Victor VanDeVyvere and Helen (Theno) and has been a lifelong area resident. He proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam. He had worked for over 32 years as a blacksmith and welder for KCP&L before he retired in 1999. He enjoyed gardening and welding. He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Survivors include; his loving wife of 52 years, Frances of the home; a daughter, Candace Valverde and husband Steve of Odessa, MO; a son, Bryan VanDeVyvere and wife Mary of Blue Springs, MO and 6 grandchildren, Logan, Evan, Brian, Elizabeth, Gary and William.
