97, of East Greenwich, formerly of Warwick, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Joseph Sleszynski. Born in Providence, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Raffaela (Viscianni) Marzilli. She was employed as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company for 13 years. Evelyn was also employed by various other companies in the Providence area until 1991. She was the mother of Anna M. Riley of Warwick and the late Janet Sleszynski. Evelyn was the cherished grandmother of Alana and Alicea Riley. She was the dear sister of Anthony Marzilli of FL, and the late Theresa Santopietro, Angela Nevadonski and Helen Gama. Her funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mark’s Church, Cranston at 11 a.m. VISITING HOURS: Friday MORNING from 9-10 a.m. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Mark’s Church, The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, or the Gloria Gemma Foundation.
