Else U Barney 1933 2019

Obituary for Else U. Barney Else U. Barney (nee Undli) passed away peacefully on January 25, 2019 at the age of 85. Else was born May 1st, 1933 in Oslo, Norway to Asmund and Margit Undli. In 1952 she met and married her loving husband, Gunnery Sergeant William Joseph Barney Sr while he was stationed at the American Embassy in Norway. Later emigrating to the US, she became an American Citizen in 1959. In 1962 they made their final move with their growing family to a brand new home in Heritage Village, Marlton. There she became active with March of Dimes, Marlton Society and Women’s Club. She was an active member of the Marlton Democrat Club and later the Democrat State Committee. She was a NJ delegate at the Democrat National Convention in Atlanta 1988. And for over 30 years clerked at the Superintendent of Elections in Mt. Holly, NJ. Else is survived by her sister Astri Johansen (Egil) of Oslo Norway, children Christine J. Barney of National Park, Frances A. Barney of Burlington, Else M. Ayala of Cherry Hill (Ronald); and Erik A. Barney of National Park, as well as extended family in Norway. Else was Mom Mom to Erik Barney, Keith Bromke Jr., Billy Barney, Wade Bromke and Ryan Bromke. She was preceded in death by her parents Asmund and Margit Undli, her sister Reidun Mathisen (Jan), husband William Joseph Barney Sr., son William J. Barney Jr, and in laws William V. Barney and Molly Barney. Funeral Service will be private. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Else’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org). Order Flowers
