Dennis Charland of Salem, Missouri passed away on December 11, 2018 in Salem, Missouri at the age of 72. Dennis was born on March 11, 1946 in Dubuque, Iowa to the late Joseph and Rita (Valley) Charland. Dennis was united in marriage to Toni (Venn) Charland in September 1998. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was past Commander for 7 years at the American Legion Post #99; past District Commander of the 16th district. He loved to administer Veteran services and was very proud to work with his Veteran friends. Dennis is survived by his children, Nikki Charland of Dubuque, Iowa; Tracy Charland and wife Rena of Dubuque, Iowa; Troy Charland and wife Sarah of Rockford, Illinois; brother Joseph Charland and wife Pam of Dubuque, Iowa; sister, Peggy Kammerude and husband Dave of Dubuque, Iowa; grandchildren, Ivana, Taggart, Morgan, Avery, Ian, Izaiah, Ithan; sister-in-law, Tina Hayes of Salem, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. In addition to his parents, Joseph and Rita, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife Toni Charland and grandson, Izaak Charland. Celebration of Life for Dennis Charland will be held 1:00PM Friday, December 21, 2018 at the American Legion Post #99 in Salem, Missouri.
