David K Rodgers May 28 1941 January 26 2019 (age 77)

David K. Rodgers, 77, of Butler, passed away Saturday evening, January 26, 2019 at St. John Specialty Care in Mars. Born May 28, 1941 in Herman, he was a son of the late Robert J. Rodgers and Betty J. (Jenkins) Rodgers. He worked as a long haul truck driver and Route Manager for Vogel Disposal for 23 years. He previously worked as an underwriter for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 7 years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Penn Township Veterans Club and the American Legion Post #778 in Lyndora. He was an avid bowler and was a coach for his sons sports teams. Surviving are 2 sons: Justin D. Rodgers of Ellwood City and Eric T. Rodgers of Robinson. 2 daughters: Melissa M. Hall of Butler and Jodie L. (Jim) Treece of Frederick, MD. A grandson, Brandon Hall of Butler. 4 sisters: Nancy (Dennis) Reilly of Butler, Kathryn (Randy) Hamilton, West Palm Beach, FL., Cherilayne “Cookie” (Thomas) Miller of Herman and Gloria Rodgers of Butler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Wilbert Nulph and Robert Rodgers. Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m Wednesday. A Blessing Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home with the Rev. Ward Stakem to officiate.
