McDonald was born June 3, 1951 in Kingman, Kansas, the youngest of three sons born to Leroy R. and Ora Marie (Patterson) McDonald. Daryl was a simple man who loved living a simple life. He was a jack of all trades working in the aircraft industry and also owning his own auto body shop. He had a love for cars, especially corvettes, and always had dreams of restoring his classic cars he had collected through the years. On January 21, 2019, Daryl passed away at his home in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Earl. Daryl will be deeply missed by his son, Brian McDonald and wife, Jody; grandchildren: Jordan Grether, Jefferson McDonald and Kaitlain McDonald; brother, Wayne McDonald and wife, Mary; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony, with Pastor Warren Stanton officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Anthony. Memorials in memory of Daryl may be made to the American Diabetes Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Prairie Rose Funeral Homes, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003, is in charge of arrangements.
