Dana J Wright Sr 2019

Dana J. Wright, Sr., 73 Scotch Plains – Dana J. Wright, Sr., 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Runnells Specialized Hospital in Berkeley Heights. Born in Mineola, NY, he grew up in Freeport, NY and was a graduate of Freeport High School. Dana was a veteran of the US Army, having served as a Green Beret during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as an operations manager for trucking companies, retiring from ABF Freight in Avenel. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Michelle Sinagra of Scotch Plains and his son, Dana J. Wright, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Cedar Grove, NJ. He is also survived by his supportive friend and former wife, Barbara Wright; his adored grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jack Sinagra; his siblings, Warren Wright, Patricia (Richard) Hansen, Diane (Joseph) Lysaght, and Peter (Karen) Wright; and his step-grandsons, Michael and Matthew. He was predeceased by his parents, Warren and Ruth Wright and by his brother, Robert Wright. A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5th from 4-7PM at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation (www.stjude.org).
