Colleen A Gadowski 1953 2019

Obituary of Colleen Gadowski Colleen A. Gadowski, 65, of Southport, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice with her husband by her side. She was born in Red Bank and had lived in Holmdel and Marlboro before settling in North Carolina. Colleen worked for Bell Labs in Holmdel before leaving to raise her family. She later worked for Ultra Chemical in Red Bank. Colleen was a member of the service club in her community at St. James Plantation. She was an avid reader and was a member of the “Literary Sisters” book club. Colleen enjoyed luncheons with the ladies, traveling in and outside of the United States, and playing cards, especially pinochle and canasta. Colleen was predeceased by her parents, James Gallagher and Mary Rita Gallagher. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Edward Gadowski of Southport, North Carolina; children, Heather Bookman and her husband, Ian of Manalapan, and Brandon Gadowski and his fiancée, Theresa Giglio of Marlboro; grandchildren, Shannon, Katelyn, and Billy; brothers, Wayne Gallagher and Kevin Gallagher; sisters, Eileen Francesconi and Sharon Slovenz; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with her prayer service to follow at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private. For those who desire, donations may be made in Colleen’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
