Bettie Connally March 01, 1945 – January 19, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Bettie Jo Connally was born March 1, 1945, in Gilmer, TX, to parents Leslie Sewell and Josephine (Gaddis) Bates. She passed away January 19, 2019, in Richardson, TX, after a one-month battle with Glioblastoma. Bettie retired after a long, successful career with Texas Instruments. She was a loving wife and caretaker of Wes, her husband of more than 45 years. She was an avid reader and the family wordsmith. She was devoted to her two grandchildren. She loved reading Madison’s poetry and spent countless hours, over many years, at the baseball fields watching Mason play ball. She was an animal advocate and lover of all breeds. Bettie is survived by her loving husband, Wesley Connally; daughter and son-in-law, Traci (Alford) and Tim BaDour; grandchildren, Madison and Mason BaDour; brother, Jr. Bates; twin sister, Bobbie Bates; nephew, Mark Bates and his wife, Holly; cats, Rocky and Stella; and many loving, extended family members. A memorial service to celebrate Bettie’s life will be held Friday, February 1, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church of Richardson, 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX, 75080, with Dr. Clayton Oliphint and Rev. April Bristow officiating. There will be a reception following the service at the church.
