Sandra E Gates 2018

Sandra Elaine (Gomes) Gates, 78, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was the former wife of Frank Gates of Camden, NC, George Oesterle and Larry Vincent. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Joseph and Jessie Frances (Gordon) Gomes. Sandra worked as a CNA at various nursing homes. She volunteered for the Jamestown Ambulance Corps and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Elizabeth City, NC. She enjoyed bingo, shopping and dogs. Sandra loved history and was a Gone with the Wind Enthusiast. She leaves five children, Cheryl Ann Gates of North Kingstown, Scott Lawrence Vincent of Warwick, Kimberly Jessica Vincent of North Kingstown, MaryAnn Smith and her husband John of Portsmouth and Christine Elaine Turillo and her husband Scott of Jamestown; a sister, Linda Taivalantti of Westerly; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2018 from 9-11am, followed by a funeral service at 11am in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. Burial will be in Cedar Cemetery, Jamestown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Jamestown Fire Department and EMS Division, 50 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI 02835 will be appreciated.
