Obituary for Mr. Richard David Loucks Richard “David” Loucks, 67, of Gloversville, passed peacefully at Alb. Med. Center, on Wednesday, Jan., 17th 2018 after a long and courageous battle with diabetes and the many other complications it causes. David was a devout husband, father, and grandfather and always cherished his family over anything. He will be greatly missed by those family and friends he so loved. He was born on Sept., 10th 1950; son of the late Richard Loucks and Shirley Langlois. David was a proud patriot and actively served our nations Military, joining the United States Marine Corps at the young age of 19. He proudly served his country and was proud of the free country he helped defend. David was married to the love of his life Mrs. Patricia A. Hayward Loucks, whom he married on March 23, 1974. He was an outdoor enthusiast who would spend his life hunting, fishing and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. David worked for many years at The General Electric Co., in Schenectady, N.Y. He was a proud supporter of The VFW in Broadalbin, N.Y. David leaves behind not only his wife of 43 years, but also his children, Jonathan Loucks (Angie) and Jennifer Loucks, his grandchildren, Brady, Cameron and Maegann McSpirit and Autumn Belle Loucks; mother, Shirley Loucks; siblings, Mark Loucks (Cindy), Tim Loucks, Peg Westerling (Steve), Penny Landers (Bernie), Kathy Phillips (Tom), Leanne Thurber (Ned) and Nancy Walker (George); his brother-in-law’s’, Charles Hayward, Robert Hayward (Carla), Richard Hayward (June), Timothy Hayward (Christine), Bruce Hayward (Nancy) and David Hayward (Sherry); sister-in-law’s Connie Jones and Brenda Hayward. Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins also are left behind. He was predeceased by his father, Richard H. Loucks and also his brother, Paul Loucks. The family invites relatives and friends to attend viewing hours on Sunday, January 21st, 2018 from 12 Noon to 3:00 PM, at Ehle and Barnett Family Funeral Home, Llc, 15 N. William St., Johnstown, NY 12095. A Service will be held at 3:00 PM, immediately to follow the viewing hours. An interment will be held at a later date in Ferndale Cemetery and will be announced in the Spring months. Donations in David’s memory can be made to The Mohawk Valley Dialysis Center, 115 Town Sq.
