Andy Gene Kimbrell of Richmond Texas passed away December 27th at the age of 57. He was born in Houston on December 20th, 1961 to Douglas and Marion Ruth Kimbrell. Andy always had a need for adventure and speed. From skateboards to sprint cars, It's safe to say that if it had wheels, he raced it. He also had a knack for mechanics and when I say “knack”, I mean he could fix or build just about anything. Those skills, paired with his tenacious work ethic, would pave the way for a long and successful career. Andy settled down with his wife Cathy in the summer of ’85. Shortly after in the summer of ’86 they had their first child, Andy Jr., followed by their daughter, Macy, in the winter of ’90. While Andy had “settled down”, he never slowed down, even after his son was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy in ’94. Sprint car racing quickly turned into motocross racing when he gave his daughter her first dirt bike at the age of 6. Once again, racing became a staple in the Kimbrell household and would remain for many years to come. In Andys later years, he enjoyed tinkering in the barn and building things. He built many strong friendships over the years and will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Lee Kimbrell and his son, AJ Kimbrell. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cathy Kimbrell, his daughter Macy Williams with her husband Brandon Williams, and brother Douglas Kimbrell Jr.
