OBITUARY Raisa G. Avakian December 17, 1945 – December 29, 2018 Raisa G. Avakian, 73, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Baku, Azerbaijan on December 17, 1945. She graduated from High School and later went on to marry Sergei G. Avagyan on April 21, 1961. Raisa worked as a Postal Clerk in a Post Office in Armenia before moving to the United States. She loved to cook and bake, and absolutely loved to go shopping. She adored her family and spent as much time as she could with them. Raisa was so dearly loved by her friends and family and she will be deeply missed. Raisa is survived by her 2 sons, Arkadiy Avakyan and Yuri Avagyan, and her grandchildren, Arsen, Ani, Alex, Susi, and Emily. She was predeceased by her sister, Maria Mankyan, and her brother, Vladimir Petrosyan. A Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:30pm, and will be followed by the Funeral Service at 2:30pm, Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. Graveside services will follow and will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
