Obituary for Nancy Evelyn Leatherman Nancy Evelyn Leatherman, 76, Goshen, died 8:15 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at her residence after battling the return of her cancer for over a year. She was born March 20, 1942 in Kankakee, IL to Wilfred and Katherine (Perzee) Lanoue. On November 5, 1961 she married Max L. Leatherman in Danforth, IL. Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Max, Goshen, son, Brent (Louise) Leatherman, Chicago, IL, daughter, Audra (Craig) Farrington, New Paris, sister, Carol Lanoue, Goshen, grandchildren, Brent Billings, Moscow, ID, Sarah (Travis) Morley, Couer D’Alene, ID, Stacy Johns, New Paris, Hallie Johns, Elkhart, Kyle Johns, New Paris, Breanna Farrington, New Paris, and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents. Nancy worked as a dental technician for Dr. Larry Beachy and as an office manager of Adventure Travel, taking many folks on fun excursions. She retired from Everence as an administrative assistant in 2002. After retirement, Nancy and Max spent 13 winters in Mission, TX. Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Central High School, Clifton, IL. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Goshen and a board member of RETA in Elkhart. She was known for her many beautiful counted cross-stitch pieces and her delicious homemade pies. She was a great encourager to anyone going through cancer or through a difficult time and often sent out many cards of comfort and support. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen and an hour before the 2:00 p.m. service Saturday, January 5, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 214 S 5th St., Goshen. Pastor Ed Fritz will officiate. Burial will follow in New Paris Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to RETA, Elkhart.
