John Byron Fountain 1945 2018

Obituary of John Fountain John Bryon Fountain, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Van Duyn Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Fran (Fish) Fountain, and his sister, Joanne Frances Fountain. John was an Image Interpreter for the US Army, very proud of being a Viet Nam veteran and wearing his Viet Nam hat proudly. After receiving his Associates Degree from Onondaga Community College he went on to pursue his career in insurance marketing in the Syracuse area. He was also affiliated with the Woodfield Rod and Gun Club, The Gillie Lake Assn., and Matthew 25, and an avid hunter and fisherman. John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Pauline (Morong) Fountain; brothers, Leo (MaryAnn) and Peter (Ann); sisters, Marianne (Christopher) Sandstrom and Sharon (Steve) Fountain-Wilensky, brothers-in-law, Gilbert (Susan) Morong and David (Donna) Morong, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss the way “Uncle Byron” could spin a story like nobody’s business. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. His Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, December 12th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Veteran’s Cemetery on Onondaga Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Association of CNY at 4915 West Taft Rd in Liverpool, NY, 13088.
