Obituary for John Walter Olechnowicz John Walter Olechnowicz, age 72, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Mercy Hospital. He was born August 11, 1946, in Grand Haven to Bruno and Anna (Klimo) Olechnowicz. John worked in maintenance for Grand Haven Board of Light and Power. He was a member of St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church. John loved hunting, fishing, and watching all Michigan college and professional sports teams play. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Angela Toher of Muskegon; his son, John William (Savy) Olechnowicz of Grand Haven; two grandchildren, Hunter and Molly; his sister, Anelia Wilson of Grand Haven, and brother, Bruno (Sophie) Olechnowicz of Grand Haven; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph, Richard, and Michael. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.
