Irene R Landschoot 1924 2018

Obituary of Irene Landschoot PHELPS–Irene R. Landschoot, age 94, died peacefully at home on Friday (December 21, 2018). Friends may call on Thursday (December 27) from 11 a.m. to Noon at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. Funeral services will follow at noon with Rev. Adrian Tierson officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. It is requested that memorial donations be made to the Untied Church of Phelps 58 Main Street Phelps, NY 14532 or Ontario-Yates Hospice 756 Pre-emption Road Geneva NY 14456. Mrs. Landschoot was born on June 4, 1924 in Newfield, N.Y. the daughter of the late John and Anna Bereza Fechina. She was a member of the United Church of Phelps. She was a creative seamstress and quilt maker. She also enjoyed making wedding cakes. Mrs. Landschoot worked for the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts in Palmyra for many years. Her children and grandchildren have many fond memories of the times spent at the cottage in Clyde, NY and family camping trips each summer. She worked side by side with her husband for many years at the family owned Landsdale Farms. Most importantly she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Henry Landschoot of Phelps, married on November 23, 1946; children Henry (Jane) Landschoot Jr. of Waterloo, April Landschoot of Buffalo, Paul (Celeste) Landschoot of Phelps, Leslie Landschoot of Phelps; grandchildren Beth, Craig, Jennifer, Paul Jr., Sarah, Devon and Amber; two great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Giordano of Conroe, Texas; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven siblings.
